Aluva: Ashokan and wife Geethdavi were in astonishment when Rahul Gandhi stopped in front of their hotel Souparnika in Desom, Aluva to have a tea. They were watching the news in the TV on Rahul's visit in Aluva that Rahul rushed to their hotel along with SPG.
Rahul at first asked for tea to Asokan who stood bewildered at the sight. Within no time Geetha prepared tea for Rahul and his companions. After tasting the tea, Rahul demanded a coffee. Rahul also tasted the Pappadavada and Murukku in the shelf himself. Rahul who liked both the items, enquired about its recipe too. He also asked for banana chips and biscuits. When he asked for 'Neembupani' (lime juice), Asokan said that there is no electricity to make the juice. After having cola he also bought Pappadava and and Mururkku too.
In the mean time people gathered in large number outside the hotel and SPG had to be harsh to control them. But Rahul shook his hands with auto driver Manikandan, Joyi and Viswanathan.
The whole scene created some traffic problems too.While returning from the hotel Rahul gave a note of Rs 1000 to Asokan . At first Asokan was reluctant to accept the same but later accepted it when Rahul compelled. Asokan said he will keep the note as a treasure in his whole life.
